It is a brand-new addition to NC Famous Lodges. Situated in Kanoneiland, the largest inland island in the Orange River, only 27 kilometres from Upington. Oranjerus River Resort is located on the banks of the Orange River—an ideal location for exploring Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park, Augrabies Falls, and Namaqualand.

Oranjerus River Resort offers camping, self-catering units, and overnight chalets. Two swimming pools.

The Red Ox has already gained fame in Upington, Vredendal and Vanrhynsdorp, but here, the younger sibling, the Red Ox Pantry restaurant, welcomes guests. There are also pizza ovens along the river offering traditional South African dishes, and they are renowned for serving the best steaks! The Red Ox house wine (red, white and rosé) is available at the restaurant.

An on-site convenience store is open to our guests. Here you can stock up on supplies. To mention a few things, such as coffee, sugar, milk, rusks, and basic toiletries. We also stock candles, matches, Doom, Peaceful Sleep, Panodo and Sunlight liquid. Wine, beer, cider, and soft drinks are also available. Chips, chocolates, ice cream, and biltong. We also stock salads, braaibroodjies, chops, kebabs, rashers and oepsies, etc. Spices, sauces, wood, firelighters, and ice are also available.
