Venue Hire

Reception capacity of up to 200 guests.
Our venue fee ensures that the venue is exclusively yours on the day of your event.

• High season venue hire: R32 500 (September to May)
• Low season venue hire: R25 000 (June to August)

Venue Hire Included:

• A dedicated venue coordinator and chef on the day of your wedding | event.
• Accommodation for the bridal couple on their wedding night.
• A unit for the bride and bridesmaids on the wedding day, day use only, which includes a complimentary snack platter.
• Complementary snack platter for the groom and groomsmen.
• The venue is exclusively yours for your wedding or event from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m. (midnight).
• The venue is equipped with a water-cooling system.
• Tables and Tiffany plastic chairs.
• Stainless steel cutlery and white crockery.
• Main bar, gin and shooter bar.
• Waiters and bartenders for the duration of your wedding | event. Additional cost will apply after midnight.
• Bottled water for each guest on arrival.
• One bottle of Michelle sparkling wine for every 10 guests.
• Ample parking for guests.
• A pre-wedding tasting for up to two people can be organised, costing R500 per person.
• On-site security.
• Forest ceremony area and church.
• Complementary name plaque, with your name and wedding date engraved, and to be added to our Wedding Wall.
• Special gift for the bride and groom from Letsatsi Lodge.
• Cleaning of the venue before and after the wedding | event.

Venue visits
Site inspections will only be done by appointment, Monday – Saturday.

Church

In early 1926, Bishop Odilon Fages was assigned the responsibility of establishing a Roman Catholic mission station at Vanrhynsdorp, which included the construction of the on-site historical church at Letsatsi Lifestyle Lodge.

A school and church building was constructed and finished in 1927. Due to the significant increase in church attendance resulting from the arrival of families and natives at the mission station, it was decided to construct a new church. Father Lazarus and his congregation were building the facilities, and the new church building was officially opened on November 25, 1951.

Visitors entering the new church are greeted by a mural by Sister Marie Josephine that serves as a visual representation of the “Mission of the Little Flower.” It captures a celestial scene where a holy woman scatters flowers from the sky in front of the iconic Maskam mountain.
The church is set apart by its preserved history, from the Afrikaans inscriptions on its murals to the original wooden pews that can accommodate a congregation of 180. A beautifully restored organ dating back to 1904 further enhances the building’s authentic and timeless character.

The church bell is fully operational and is available to announce the commencement of your ceremony or any other ceremonial event. This bell is of exceptional importance and is the oldest of the three bells that were imported to South Africa in 1951. In 1933, the bell was produced in Bavaria, Germany, and it arrived in Cape Town shortly thereafter.

In 2017, a professor from the University of Cape Town visited our lodge to evaluate the quality of this historic bell. His assessment revealed its sound to be among the purest and finest in the world. To mark your special occasion, you may request a member of the Letsatsi staff to ring the bell on your behalf.

Boma

The Boma can be hired for a prewedding braai and is situated between the chalets.
Capacity of up to 80 guests.

The Boma is self-catering, and you are welcome to bring your own drinks. No corkage will be charged.

Boma hire: R2 000.

• Cutlery, crockery included.
• Braai grid, wood, and ice will be supplied.
• Tables and chairs can be supplied.
• For the braai, we can supply the meat, salads, and braaibroodjies at an additional cost.
• Please note it is your responsibility to ensure that your guests are well-behaved.

Venue Hire Excludes

Breakage deposit of R3,000 (breakage or loss of goods will be deducted from this amount, and the remainder will be refunded after your wedding | event).

Corkage fee of R45 per 750 ml bottle.

The venue fee is R2,000 per hour after 12:00 a.m. (midnight)

Food

The package includes a variety of dishes that can be selected for your wedding or event.

• We offer a plated buffet.
• Once you have compiled a menu of your choice, we will be able to give you a quotation.
• Kosher or Halal meals would need to be pre-arranged.
• No outside catering is allowed.
• Plated menu option available at an extra R15 p.p.
• We welcome children of all ages, and children’s menus can be pre-arranged.
• Wedding cake and suppliers may be discussed.

Beverages

• Fully licensed bar.
• Letsatsi Lifestyle Lodge is fully licensed and will meet and manage all your beverage requirements as far as possible. Please note that Letsatsi Lifestyle Lodge runs the bar and will not be outsourced to a third party.
• We offer three separate bar options: main, gin, and shooter. The main bar area is situated within the main venue hall and is equipped with all your beverage needs and will be fully stocked on the day of your wedding | function.
• Should you prefer to bring your own wine, a corkage fee of R45 per 750 ml bottle will be charged. Note that this must be prearranged.
• The bar closes at 12:00 a.m. (midnight) with the last call at 11:45 p.m. Unless prearranged with management at an extra fee.

Wedding agreement

Not excluding any other information in the wedding package.

• To confirm the booking (venue and date), a 25% deposit is required to be paid immediately, and the remaining 25% of the total must be paid two months before the wedding | function date.
• Full and final payment of the final invoice must be paid two weeks before the wedding | function date. Otherwise, we will cancel the wedding | function.
• Please note that our rates include 15% VAT
• Any damage to property or appliances caused by you or your guests will be at your account.
• No guests are allowed to bring their own alcohol or food to the venue.
• No food can be taken off-site after the function, and no open bottles of alcohol will be allowed to be removed.
• The kitchen area and fridges are strictly off-limits to all guests. Items such as the wedding cake or other agreed-upon items brought in by the wedding party, which may be removed after the event, will be handed over to the designated person between 09:00 and 10:00 the morning after the wedding or function in the main venue area.
• No fireworks allowed on the premises.
• We only allow the use of biodegradable confetti to protect our fauna and flora.
• Please note it is your responsibility to ensure that your guests are well-behaved.

The use of the venue is at one’s own risk.
